Taraji P Henson is the ultimate queen as she covers Entertainment Weekly magazine’s September issue in which she talks about the hit TV series Empire, her character Cookie and many more.

The 45-year old is keeping busy this year with her third Emmy nomination, the third season of Empire , her upcoming autobiography, Around the Way Girl , a new cosmetics line with MAC which is launching this month, and a starring role in the film Hidden Figures.

Check out a few excerpts from the interview:

On Cookie’s popularity:

“Cookie has all kinds of fans, all. I get it. She’s my alter ego — we all need a Sasha Fierce. I’ve gotten people dressing their dogs up like Cookie, cats up like Cookie,”

On starring in Empire and in the new film Hidden Figures:

“This is my first time carrying a show and then going to carry a movie. That’s a lot. It’s so stressful, and I had to really check myself because it’s so easy to take for granted when you get to a certain level. Like check yourself because people pray to be here.”

On Empire:

“Well, of course, I want it to go into syndication. It’s not like it’s a bad job. You see how much fun we have. Even with the crew, you can feel the energy on this set. So it’s not like it’s a bad job. But what I’m starting to find is that now I’m getting more offers for features.”

On the different roles she wants to play:

“I haven’t played a superhero yet, I haven’t played a psycho character yet. I want to play a man, like I want to really disappear. I have so much to do.”
