Kenzo SS17by Sonia Amoako Wednesday, October 5th, 2016 .
The Kenzo Spring Summer 17′ Collection took place at Paris Fashion Week.
Now Kenzo Takada famously put on a show at Studio 54 back in 1977 which looked wild to be honest (YouTube it!). The models featured seemed to be having the best time dancing down the runway, balloons at their feet as the legendary Grace Jones performed. Designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon must of had that vision in their mind for this Resort collection, as it was a nod to their own hey days. This season seemed to cycle back years to that epic vision in the brands early history. We love the elevated sportswear and workwear which is right on trend. Camouflage prints and oversized jackets were prominent in the collection. The tracksuits in a vibrant fire engine red are what caught our eye, it would be hard to miss. The style gave a slight 80′s vibe.
All the models hitting the catwalk wore a br But red lip, along with matching red shadow around their eyes. Even though the pieces varied which they wore, there was still a touch of unity in terms of the make up choice.
The show also included a series of sequin minidresses, giving a glam after dark vibe. All in all, the collection was sleek and we wouldn’t be surprised if it gave ladies more reason to get ready for the party season when these designs become available.
