Julian Macdonald Presents SS17 Collection at London Fashion Weekby Sonia Amoako Thursday, September 22nd, 2016 .
Julian Macdonald did not disappoint as he presented his SS17 collection at London Fashion Week. Models took to the basketball court of Seymour Leisure Centre in London’s Marylebone.
He showcased his usual love for intricate beading, cutaway designs and sequins which gave a ballroom like vibe. The new collection saw the Welsh designer have the models showing off flesh and being covered in oil so their bodies glistened. This definitely brought attention to the high grazing dresses decorated with beaded fringing
The pieces would be perfect for dancing, the emphasis on movement, as the models were adorned with embellishments and swaying fabrics. We loved the colour palette, nude- simple yet chic. Along with the mini dresses, the full length gowns were very glamorous. Some designs given a racy element with mesh inserts and translucent fabrics.
Julian was one of the few designers to present both men and women’s clothing at Fashion Week. Including cool male pieces which took on a western theme, the guys hit the runway in studded waistcoats, cowboy boots and accessories.
The mini dresses and gowns have us looking forward to the Christmas and New Year party season. They would be perfect for a special occasion.
